Moved to NATALIEOLOGY.NET!

moved

It’s time for a new home along with a brand new name and address. The blog is still the same but the name natalicious-style feels a bit tacky now that I no longer own the domain natalicious.net and I feel I’ve grown a bit apart from it. A million thanks to my friend Dinh for hosting me on his website the last months!

I promise I wont move or disappear from the blog scene for some time coming now. So update your links and I’ll try to fix Bloglovin so my followers can keep stalking me on my new home. Thank you very much!  Catch on you on the other side!

The Day Before

the-day-before

Photo: colette.fr

Fashion Week is over in Stockholm but it contiues to hit us everywhere. Copenhagen, Oslo, London, Paris, Milan, New York and so on. Some more interesting than others, but for everyone in the fashion industry, especially the press, it’s a hectic time of the season. More so there’s a lot of things happening behind the scenes. With ‘The Day Before‘ box series you can get a view of what’s going on behind the scenes. It’s directed by Lois Prigent who also directed the Marc Jacobs documentary from 2008.

Experience the rhythm of Sonia Rykiel, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Fendi by Karl Lagerfeld and New Yorkers Proenza Schouler. “The Day Before” is a series where we find the intensity of life, with moments of joy, stress, humor and anxiety. An anthem to fashion, an ode to life, presented on preview at colette for 3 weeks from January 15 (slamxhype.com).

I definitely want this box in my shelf. Do you? I love watching behind the scenes before fashion shows. It’s a whole lot of work and things going on beyond our imagination. You can get it now at Colette.

Swedish Favorites AW2010

I’ve finally had time to breathe and relax after a few hectic and intense days lately. Spent most of my time lately sleeping, cleaning and catching up on school work. It’s anyways time to sum up my favorites from Fashion Week by Berns this season. We might spot a few trends along the report too.

minimarket-aw2010-1

minimarket-aw2010-2

Minimarket was a fresh splash of color. Not only literally. It was nice to see another color palette than grey, black and nude on the Swedish fashion venue. I had high expectations since the Minimarket sisters won the designer award at the Elle gala last Friday, and luckily they met all my expectations. I love all the quirky details like the feather shoulder ornaments, the cool helmets (some were covered with pearls in the back), the colorful tights and the patterns inspired by an Indian cult.

carin-wester-aw2010-1

carin-wester-aw2010-2

carin-wester-aw2010-3

Carin Wester was the last show at Berns Salonger and I think the collection blew most of us away. Wow! The models along with the hair were amazing. My crush on Frida Gustavsson didn’t fade during this show to say so. The collection was a perfect mix of floor length dresses and skirts, luxurious baggy trousers, basics pieces, transparent tights and awesome shoes in form of wedges. I also loved most pieces for the men. Will definitely dress my boyfriend in Carin Wester this fall.

Stylein was very clean and casual in a good way. I want a pair of the 50% leather and 50% transparent tights. I also loved the classy dresses with the transparent details by the chest. Transparent is hot! The ankle boots in black or grey had cool and clean details which I would absolutely wear. I also got the best goodie bag with a present card at Corinne & Friends which I already used yesterday. Got a permanent eyelash curl treatment. Goodbye eyelash curler!

Dagmar was also one of my top favorites which I already did a short review the first day.

Pearls & Sequins

A webcam overview of what I wore to the party last night. The colorful earrings and the vintage blouse with pearl details is obviously my top favorite items so far in 2010. Too bad you can’t get a better view of the details of the blouse or my sequin trousers. We have to save that for later. When ever someone feels generous enough to sponsor me with a new camera, that is. Might be a good idea to throw an insurance in at the same time. I’m a master of hurting cameras or getting them stolen.

Acne AW2010

Acne is way cool in every possible term. After attending the Acne party last night at Enskilda Galleriet, I’m convinced that the Acne crew don’t only succeed in their ‘Ambition to Create Novel Expressions’ but also throw the best Fashion Week parties. So many cool and inspiring people gathered at one place.

Before the party designer Jonny Johansson showed the Acne Pre-Fall 2010 collection for women and main wear for men here in Stockholm. A lot of flight gear inspired pieces. The shoes this fall is even more awesome than ever. Acne can’t stop but amaze me on that part. For pictures visit Caroline.

The day before Johansson showed the Acne AW2010 collection in East London. The show was entitled ‘Svart Snö‘ (Black Snow) while the inspiration source was Star Wars: The Clone Wars. How awesome ain’t that? I’m usually not a big fan of sci-fi, but this fascinates me beyond the galaxy! The models forehead were painted in metallics and we see the cartoons and droids inspiration throughout the collection. The chance is very big that I might want to look like a chic galactic warrior this fall.

Fashion Week Day#3

local-firm-aw2010-front-row

Photo: Private

Fashion Week by Berns is soon coming to an end. Hang along with the Norwegian girls, Maren, Eva and Maria, all day at Berns today. We decided to stay in when the snow storm came out of no where. We saw Minimarket, The Local Firm and Carin Wester. I loved every show, especially the first and latter. Pictures and reviews coming soon. Now I have to throw on some clothes and make-up and run out in the snow for the Acne after-party. In the mean time you can continue spotting familiar faces. Like Susie/StyleBubble, Anna Hibbs, Petra Tungården, Michaela Forni and Yvan/Facehunter sitting on the opposite side of me during The Local Firm show on front row.

Fashion Week Day #2

I thought I’d never say this, but I’m getting a bit tired of Fashion Week. Or misunderstand me correctly; it’s fun, interesting, inspiring and the best way to experience and soak in the fashion world live, but I guess I’m just tired of the cold, the waiting and the other not so glamorous parts, like feeling a bit like tag-o-long at times. I’m probably just a newbie when it comes to this. Hah. Skipped a few fashion shows today due to both cold and school priorities (I still need to read a book before the seminarium tomorrow morning). I did made time for Diana Orving which was a pleasant surprise. The hairdos were way cool. They were shaped in straws. Wonder if they had to use duck tape there? The clothes were much the same throughout the collection, but a nice mix of black, grey, clean edgy cuts with simple details. Odeur had the coolest catwalk with cages shaped like their logo.  Whyred didn’t offer any surprises in my opinion, but the consistent quality always shines down the whole catwalk. I’m starting to get an overview of how the Swedes want us to dress for the fall – and despite everything, I like it.

I think my lack of camera is making things less fun too. It’s not the same thing to experience every ounce of Fashion Week off and on the catwalk and not be able to personally capture the moments. If I wasn’t such a dumbass who lost my camera two weeks ago I’d be running around in my heels in the icy and greasy snow and capture the whole atmosphere. On the other hand, there’s enough press and flash lights flashing every where we go. Thank you for the media that captures everything I can’t, especially all the fashionable familiar, not to mention talented faces attending Fashion Week. Do you recognize any above?

We survived the first day of Fashion Week by Berns and so far so good! The opening show was Dagmar. I loved the heavy velvet, drapings and the color palette, and of course the shoes: abstract structured wedges by Finsk. Rebecca&Fiona djed during the show which of course resulted in perfect accompanied music. Saw Stylein from second row and got a good view of the delicate fabrics and cool details of the shoes. Ended the day with Cheap Monday which had a open fashion show. The rumor has it that over 1000 attended! Never seen such a long cue outside at any concert, not to mention fashion show, before hand. Crazy!

Besides from taking in inspiration from the whole fashion week venue (so many stylish and good looking people gathered at one place), I’ve spent time with Swedish friends and lovely Norwegian fashion bloggers: Maria, Maren and Eva. New day tomorrow. Time for a couple of hours of sleep, because after looking at the photos Maren and Maria posted, I don’t look happy (which I of course am. Hallo! Fashion Week in Stockholm is fun!) and a bit sleepy. Didn’t get my morning coffee! Let’s hope for coffee and a better mood tomorrow, after all it’s a full packed schedule. :)

The Hermès Spring 2010 campaign shot by Paolo Roversi and modelled by Karlie Kloss is amazingly beautiful. The Cinderella story never seems to go out of style and every photo is dreamy and fronting Hermès to the finger points. The last photo made my crave for a Hermès scarf real bad…and a trip to the spa. Heh.

Fashion Week by Berns

bloggers-front-row

Photo: nytimes.com

Fashion Week by Berns is officially opening tomorrow. I won’t be sitting front row with Anna Wintour like Tommy Ton and Bryan Boy did in New York, but I’m beyond excited since this is my first attendance to Fashion Week in Stockholm. The bonus is that Scandinavian brands are quite high on my list of favorites, especially Swedish ones. They are always innovative when it comes to design and we can’t help but fall for the clean, but edgy cut, huh? I can’t bulletproof promise you, because this will be on top of school and socializing, but I’ll of course try  my best to report and come back with reviews every day!

Here’s a crappy sneak preview of my outfit for tonight. Camera still missing in action, so bare with me so long. First up is a girls night hosted by finest.se at Café Opera. Hoping for some great hair and make-up tips! Then we might continue to the champagne party at Collage. Dj Sylvain Armand from Nikki Beach is making a guest appearance. Woop!

Girls Off Duty

Talented Hanneli has shot models off duty in between the couture shows in Paris for Vogue. Models seem to inspire off and on the catwalk. Love it! Here’s some of my favorites. Who said brown and black don’t work together?! The chestnut shades actually look splendid as a contrast to black. Breaking fashion rules are fun. You can view the rest of the series here.

Both Please

natalie-nailpolish

Photo: Private

I couldn’t decide between my new nailpolish. Mint or grey? Both are hot. So yup, I went for both! I’m pleased with the Sparkle & Fade from Urban Outfitters. Definitely going for a coral color for spring.

Last night was a bit too wild so tonight I’ve had a quiet Friday date with sushi, cava and good company. ;) And yeah, I emptied a bag of Ahlgrens Bilar covered in chocolate by myself. Ooops!

Kinky Materials

pvc-faux-leather-trend

Photos: hm.com & anothermag.com/loves

PVC and leather might be clammy and sweaty in the long term, that’s why it’s great to get to use when it’s still cold. Either way, cold or clammy it’s hot! Personally, I love mixing textures, that’s also why leather materials on the  bottom part is the perfect contrast to flowing fabrics like chiffon, silk and sateng and for the less soft look it works great with chunky knitted sweaters or loose laidback tanks.

I have to get the H&M faux leather shorts above. The perfect length and fit! The PVC skinny trousers by Acne to right also looks hot on the right legs and buttocks.

The Cure

shopping-28-jan-2010

This week so far has been shitty because of several reasons and it just keeps getting worse. So what’s the cure? Go shopping for happiness. Fo sho! I went to the City after school just to check out something for a friend of mine in Norway and got home with this bunch. Or actually the white blouse with pearl details is a vintage scoop I bought from Jenny for a nice price. Lucky me! Now when you buy one Sparkle & Fade nail polish you get one for free at Urban Outfitters. We like! The grey snake skin boots were also on major sale, I get into that story later. It’s actually a bit cute! The black and red heart dotted tights from H&M was a must since my old ones are getting worn out soon. Excuse the bad quality of the mobile photo.

After a night of insomnia I have to try to get a quick powernap, clean the apartment a bit, shop alcohol and groceries, cook dinner, get myself ready and wait for the girls to arrive for the pre-party here. We’re partying with the economics student at Collage tonight, which also means it’s time for cure #2 for bad weeks: drinking and dancing! I might even put up an outfit later. So long!

Denim Mania

elle-se-feb-siri-tollerod

Photos: elle.no

Fashion bloggers are excited by the denim on denim trend that will be ruling this spring. We saw good examples over at Chloé and Stella McCartney Spring 2010 collections. I’m not really convinced yet. I love denim, but not too much denim. Reminds me off 7th grade when I lived in my Lois denim patched jeans. Denim patched together from top to toe!

Nevertheless, I love this editorial in the latest Swedish Elle magazine featuring Norwegian and wonderful Siri Tollerød. She’s all greasy and cool in denim! I don’t think I’ll go for the greasy look, but I definitely have to get a light denim colored shirt for spring. I noticed Bik Bok and Gina Tricot are having great options in stores.

I think every Chanel show is the main event of every Fashion Week period for me. I love couture over ready to wear, although couture is something I’ll probably never wear in my lifetime, it’s still some of the most beautiful pieces that walk down the catwalk in Paris.

It’s the first time in my whole career I’ve done a collection without black or navy. There’s not one gold button. (Karl Lagerfeld)

Horray for silver and pastels. Everything looks so delicate in a futuristic meets elegant shapes way. The bride and groom pair is a good example. Actually, I think I might find my silver tights from the closet immediately. The heart-bow shaped hair is my favorite hairdo for the spring. Forget the Wang braid. The Chanel hair even wants me to cut heavy bangs once again.

Heartbreak Warfare

run-away

Photo: weheartit.com

I don’t care if we don’t sleep at all tonight
Let’s just fix this whole thing now
I swear to God we’re gonna get it right
If you lay your weapon down

Red wine and ambient
You’re talking shit again, it’s heartbreak warfare
Good to know it’s all a game
Disappointment has a name, it’s heartbreak warfare

(John Mayer – Heartbreak Warfare)

Anyone wants to run away with me? To some place without heartbreaks, emotions and tears. Let’s put on a Find Willy tee and a blazer and run away somewhere where we just don’t have to worry about tomorrow. Just for a moment.

New Snapshots

Leica M7 by Hermes

Photo: anothermag.com/loves

My new course about fashion in French and Italian literature and culture started today and I had to pass the first lecture. Bummer. Had insomnia last night and had the worse headache all day. It has passed off a bit after a few painkillers and sleep. I’ve even managed to read my 50 pages of course literature for the day.

Besides from boring details about my day I want a new camera (or a camera at all) and new inspiration. This limited edition Leica M7 camera by Hermès would be pretty neat. It only costs $14 000. Actually I would be happy with a Leica D-Lux 4, but I think I might have to settle with a Panasonic Lumix 3 whenever I can afford it. When it comes to inspiration, the winter is killing me and I guess I’m not alone. I’m bored of the knitting sweaters and boots. I hope attending Fashion Week by Berns next week will give me back my inspiration although the shows are collections for Fall 2010. Just seeing fashion in new venues and perspectives always give new inspiration.

Hungry For House?

house-vinyl-dinner

Photo: weheartit.com

Mia requested my top 10 house music favorites, but since I’m finding so much hot music these days I’ll do my favorites at the moment instead. Enjoy and let me know if you like it! I might do more music posts in the future.

Ellie Goulding – Starry Eyed (Russ Chimes)

This is the best remix so far of Starry Eyed in my opinion. Russ Chimes seldom disappoints. No wonder I want to carry his children!

Adrian Lux – Teenage Crime

Whenever I listen to this song I’m ready to cruise with the roof down and feel the summer breeze on a road trip somewhere. The Axwell Remix isn’t bad either.

Miike Snow – Animal (Fake Blood Remix)

I always get happy when I listen to Animal, and this remix is one of the best out there. Miike Snow and Fake Blood together, can’t go wrong!

Helsinki 78-82 feat. Villa Nah – So Lifelike (download link)

Lifelike – So Electric is my favorite house song EVER. That’s why it’s no shock that I love this Finnish take on the song. Perfectly chill version of So Electric with Helsinki 78-82’s own touch.

La Roux vs. Black Eyed Peas – I Gotta Kill (Laidback Luke Bootleg v2)

In It For The Kill and I Gotta Feeling must have been some of the most played songs on the general clubbing scene in 2009. I don’t really like bootlegs, but this one is good. Then again it’s Laidback Luke rockin’ it. A nice mix of both songs. Makes you want to get up and dance and party all night long!

Rick Owens SS2010

rick-owens-spring-2010

Photo: net-a-porter.com

It’s about old Hollywood glamour but in a ripped t-shirt way. (Rick Owens)

Rick Owens‘ SS2010 Collection has arrived over at Net-A-Porter. I like what I see and I like his answer above when the interviewer asks him “Who is the Rick Owens woman?” and he answers  “Every woman.” I like very piece of his Spring Collection, that doesn’t necessarily mean that I would wear every piece, but there are many women I could see the pieces on. Besides his basics pieces are the best. I just want one of his fabulous asymmetrical leather jackets, preferably one in grey. You know you want it!

Hallo Weekend

22-jan-2010

Photo: Kajsa

Howdy girls and boys! Just thought I stop by and say I’m alive. Since my camera is still missing in action I stole a beautiful (well…) picture from Kajsa’s camera of Hanna and myself from the tube last night. My eye infection is back, so horray. But that hasn’t stopped me from having fun has it? No, of course not! Had a long Friday with fashion show by Frida Fahrman which we saw a few heads and not much clothes because of the crowd. Followed by take-away, pre-party at my place and the plan was to see fantastic Miike Snow at Strand, but gave up the long cue and ended up at Marie Laveau at last. Where Rebecca & Fiona played hard and lovely electro (they also modelled at the fashion show earlier). Fun! Kajsa and I got home about 5 am and today has been a relaxing day. Soon rest of the girls are coming over for the usual Saturday pizza and a film when we’re too lazy/old/poor to do the Saturday night partying. Yup, there’s my weekend. Hope you’re having a fun one!

Seven Random Facts

Ok, so Benedicte passed this on me and six others. It’s a bloggaward of some sort where you’re suppose to tell 7 facts about yourself. I usually don’t like these things. Like bloggaward? Hallo, more the person who started this was either bored or very curious about their fellow bloggers and this is a bad excuse to get “secrets” out of each other. Well, since I’m the most interesting person in the universe (not!), I’ll do this after all. Hah.

1. I have a Hed Kandi collection. That’s how I started my house music interest, which later on went to the whole genre of electronica music addiction. Bonus: I’m going to start dj’ing for real this year. Woop!

falling-in-love

2. I’ve had five serious boyfriends so far, where as four went down in a period of 2 years. Intense!

3. Ive been allergic to fur animals, eggs, nuts, some fruits and even a few dairy products my whole life.

great-in-bed

4. I have no limit of sleeping. I could sleep for days. Once I actually did, I slept over 24 hours and woke up to a lot of lost calls and messages.

5. I think most people are unnecessarily too caught up in themselves. To be self-centered is perfectly natural, but it’s allowed to look from others perspective too.

fill-paper

Photos: weheartit.com

6. I’m writing on a book which probably is more a personal project, but time will show.

7. My dream man is a mix of Barney Stinson (How I Met Your Mother), Seth Cohen (The O.C), Chuck Bass (Gossip Girl) and J.D (Scrubs). Good luck, girl!

I’m not going to pass this bloggaward on though. Shoot me. ;)

Chanel Ink

Chanel-tattoo

Photo: jakandjil.com/blog

So the Chanel tattoos from the SS 2010 collection have arrived for us deadly human beings. Personally, I don’t get the excitement. I think it’s übercool the fact that Karl Lagerfeld actually is turning tattoo into a trend in fashion. L.A Ink might be trendy in L.A, but it’s not a trend thing because real tattoos normally last forever…and evah and trend comes and goes. It would have been fun to play around with the Chanel tattoos, but esthetically pretty? Neh, it’s not. Now I’m not a tattoo person at all, and if I’d ever (like never) decide to put permanent ink on my skin it would be a cute bow or an anchor by the wrist or ankle.  Most likely it won’t happen in this life, so speculations saved. Clean body ftw.
